Should kids who were bullied in school 20 years ago be allowed bring a lawsuit against their attackers?

Should there be NO statute of limitations against bullying? Should those who "were" bullies have to wonder until their dying days whether or not someone was going to show up an hold them accountable? The deaths of Prince, a South Hadley High School student who hanged herself in January amid relentless harassment from other students, and Walker-Hoover, a Springfield 11-year-old who took his own life last year after being bullied, sparked a public outcry over school bullying and galvanized support for the legislation. Lawmakers said the new rules, particularly those mandating that all bullying be reported, will help protect students who now feel they have nowhere to turn. “Bullying is not new. Bullying has been with us from time immemorial. But what has changed is that it appears to be more pervasive, more destructive,’’ Senator Robert O’Leary said as he introduced the bill yesterday. “We’re going to send out a message that this kind of behavior is not acceptable. http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2010/04/30/state_bill_targeting_bullying_approved/ The actions come after complaints of severe bullying at the school, which included a third-grader who has cerebral palsy saying that she suffered repeated verbal and physical abuse. The girl's mother said the 8-year-old wanted to kill herself by trying to jump from a second-story window after students beat her. The city school system says the classroom teacher reported that the child was not at a window but made a comment that she wanted to commit suicide. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2010-04-28/news/bs-ci-bullying-reactions-20100428_1_bullying-gilmor-elementary-school-school-system I'm thinking that a 30 million dollar lawsuit which would put the craven bullies AND their families out on the street and living in a cardboard box would be somehow...poetic... so death...:Why don't we just give the kids a few weapons (say a 9mm) , then they wouldn't be "wimps". Let's do it!! then the "bullies" get to contend with a 9mm hole over the right eye.

If it can be proven, then yes, they should be brought to justice, just like murderers and rapists from years ago,are being caught now. On another note, those like were arrested the other week, should be dealt with,to the full extent of the law.If they go behind bars for a while, that is their problem, not my care. They will certainly meet their match. Now that is poetic justice
