After shadowing my uncle who is a licensed pharmacist I absolutely fell in love with the profession and as a result I want to pursue a career as a pharmacist. I'm hoping to apply for Massachusetts School of Pharmacy (boston) as a transfer student (Pharm MD program) and I was wondering if anyone had any previous experiences with transferring into this particular program. Currently, I have a bachelors in biology with a minor in mathematics (3.87 cumulative GPA). I done some of my own research about the school and it seems like I need to take the PCAT, but other than i'm clueless lol. Do I have a shot at getting in? If anyone has any experience with transferring into this particular program could you please share? Thank you in advance. *Any help is appreciated

First, you need to make sure you have fulfilled all of the Pre-Pharm requirements. Take and score well on the PCAT. Good Luck

Schools all require pre pharm requirements and although you probably have the necessary pre reqs, I would verify. Our School lists them on our website http://www.sjc.edu/academics/schools/school-of-pharmacy/. Most schools should be the same. So to the FAQ section to see the requirements. Some schools specialize in BS students. Our School in Hartford requires a BS. It is also a 3 year (not 4 year) accelerated program so that saves a whole year of tuition. I am the Director of Experiential Education but you can contact the Admission Director from the website. Applications are through Pharmcas.org so go there. I think most schools use that. University of Massachusetts Boston. My advice though is to NOT major in business as an undergraduate, but rather to save it for graduate studies. Major in something else, such as Economics.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Boston, Massachusetts ?
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Boston, Massachusetts ?
I seem to want to think of tea or Harvard. This one girl at my school says that Boston is one of the ghettoist places ever. It's like she is comparimg it to New York. For some reason, I always thought that Boston was a rich place to live, but I guess I was misinformed.

I only live like an hour away from Boston. I've driven through it many times and been there on a day trip kind of thing. There are lots of pretty buildings but the construction going on makes the city a little less beautiful. There's lots of history there. I've been on a historical tour that was very nice. Boston was a big part of the founding of America and the American Revolution. I mainly think of history.

Is it illegal to leave your car at idle in a Massachusetts school parking lot?
I was recently in a parking lot a snobby area outside of Boston picking up my friends little brother. Some lady comes up and says its a state law to shut your car off while in a school parking lot.Considering the school is 100 yards away from a major highway i doubt that the "fumes" as she called them has any effect. I am a criminal justice major and never heard of such a rule, Next time i am going to ask her for it in writing but for now does anyone have any ideas about this?

I am looking for a Bartending School to become certified as a bartender and came across this school. what is the rock music scene like around boston massachusetts?
im looking at going to Berklee school of music in boston and im researching the weather, cities, life ect. Im very involved in music and with me living in california, i go to shows regularly and im certainly interested in the music scene around boston. im into bands of rock, alternative, ect. i was wondering peoples opinions about the concert life.

im not exactly sure seeing as i dont live there, but from what i understand is that boston has the best hardcore scene around...ive also heard that they have a decent amount of ska shows there...but dont quote me on that cuz like i said i dont live there

Hi :) I'm not IN boston, but it's like an hour away from me, so I know a pretty good amount about the city. There's lots of great venues around (Paradise rock club, the Middle East, House of Blues...) and lots of bands come into nearby colleges as well. I'd assume there's a great music scene within Berklee itself as well, considering it's like one of the best music schools around. www.tourfilter.com is very helpful with looking up shows and stuff, and you can usually just click on Boston, and it will list all the upcoming concerts in the area, both big and small ones. Hope I helped! :)

There is no crew team that is ran through my high school are there any near Boston mass?
There is no crew team that is ran through my high school are there any near Boston mass?
i have never rowed before, but will be taking a camp this summer. i will be entering high school next year. Since there is no crew team that is ran through my high school, I do not know of any team that I could join after the camp. If you know of any "independent" crew teams (not school related) near or in Boston Massachusetts, please let me know! Thank you =)

It is a State School, they do have an honors program (Commonwealth College), its cheap, and you will get out what you put in.
