No not really, just depends on the individual. If you have a good reputation in your reports and a well degree, then you will be accepted easily. If not then they'll think otherwise.. Popularity in the career field is vital aswell.

Where to move to in Massachusetts?

I am thinking about moving to Massachusetts. I am an elementary school teacher, so I need to move where there would be jobs. I would like to stay away from Boston, too expensive. Any advice would be great!

I live in the Worcester area which is central Massachusetts. Still fairly expensive, but a lot cheaper than Boston. There are plenty of jobs here
2 :
I live in the north shore area just outside of Boston. Lots of job opportunities around here but a little on the expensive side but then again all of mass is like that. And actually there are a lot of places in Boston that are cheaper than areas on the east. But if your looking cheap then western mass is for you I can't speak for jobs out there though.
3 :
Try somerville or cambridge they are always looking for teachers and it is much cheaper to live there than in Boston.
4 :
try westford there are 2 elementry schools with plenty of jobs i betand it doesnt cost much to live here its a big town
5 :
Hey =] Concord, MA has a really nice school system and the teachers get paid about 260 a year. It's great!
6 :
Belmont has an excellent school system (150th in the country I think) and is a very nice town. You could also try a big fancy private school like Buckingham Browne and Nichols in Cambridge or Milton Academy in Milton to get paid more. Acton-Boxborough and Concord I hear also have great school systems if you would like to be close to Boston, but more out in the country.

Cape Cod.

Which colleges are the best to attend for pre med?

Northeastern University, Boston University, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. I'm thinking about applying to them, and in the case that I do get accepted into, which I think there is a good chance of, I want to know which college is best to attend for pre med. I would like to go to med school in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, or Massachusetts, if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Holy Cross outside Boston has twice the national rate for acceptance to medical schools and is half way through the building of a 60 million dollar science complex. More than 10 percent of the 35,000 alumni of Holy Cross are physicians.

Are there any autism centers in Massachusetts?

I am planning to move to Boston this summer or fall and was wondered if that state had any centers. I currently work as a teacher's assistant at a special needs school for children with autism. Wanted to know if I could find something similar to what I do now in Massachusetts?

sure there are, this one is non-profitable: http://www.necc.org/
2 :
http://nashobalearninggroup.org/ Nashoba Learning Group is a non-profit school for children with autism with a good reputation. Here is another one: http://www.bostonhigashi.org/services.php?id=3 There are probably several depending upon how far you're willing to travel. You might want to use www.indeed.com and do a job search with just the word "autism" and see what's available now, to give you a better idea of what might be out there later. I'd also look at http://www.schoolspring.com/ if you haven't already, since they're jobs in education. You can also look at the public school system. I live right on the border of Mass (Nashua, NH) and my son is in public school in a class where every student has autism. They each have one-on-one paraprofessionals/teacher aides. That's common around here. (I'm not sure what region you're in now, but I know it's not common everywhere).

Are there any field hockey teams I can play on in Massachusetts that's not for a school team?

I'm a field hockey goalie and the high school i'm going to doesn't have field hockey. I live in Massachusetts. If there are any teams near Boston, that would help. But, I would go anywhere in Massachusetts to play. My town's coach is trying really hard to get me to be able to play for them but doesn't think she can get a waiver. I really want to play field hockey. It's my favorite sport and I'm really good at it. Please. Can anyone out there help me out?

Hey I live near boston too. Well I do futures which is run by USA field hockey. Here is the website for it: http://www.usfieldhockey.com/futures/index_new.php There are a few ways to join, but I got recommended by a partner camp. There are a bunch of partner camps around here. Here is information on getting in: http://www.usfieldhockey.com/futures/trials/index.php Futures is really good but you only play for like 10 sundays and then there is a tournament at the end. If you want more then there are other teams as well. Lead The Way is another program that you have to tryout for. But there are also programs that you can just join. Its in rhode island I think. heres the website: http://www.leadthewayfieldhockey.com/ There is also a program called Cape Ann, I think the tryouts just happened though =(. http://capeanncoalition.com There are also many other programs out there. I'm really sorry your high school doesn't have a team... maybe you could start a club or something? Good Luck =)

Is it possible to go to school in Massachusetts and live in New York?

Here's the thing I am almost done with my Liberal Arts degree. I want to transfer to a school in NYC but if I am not a resident in NYC I will have to pay out of state tuition which is a lot. I do not want to move to New York and stay out of school for a whole year. So, I was thinking I could move to New York but use my relatives' address in MA and attend school in MA and take some courses for the semester. I would do this for a bout a year until I establish residency in New York of which I could then attend school out there. I already live in MA and have been living here for almost 24 years. I am ready to move out. I figure I can catch some sort of train to take me from New York to Boston everyday. I can't think of any other way.

Once you are 24 you might be able to do it. Until that age your residence is where your parents live except under certain exceptions. Once you are 24 you can establish your own residency by getting an apartment and a drivers license from that state. It would be helpful if you made a little money in NYso you could file NY taxes. However, if the new school noticed that you attended a MA school as a resident which might ruin the whole scheme.
2 :
It depends on where you live in New York and where you live in MA. For example, UMASS Amhert, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, Smith, and Willliams are closer to New York then BU, BC, etc. However, it would be a pain to commute if you didn't live somewhere closer to the border. You also need to factor how long it takes to take the train to and from school. If you're looking at Boston, it's not really realistic. I have been on an Amtrak train from just outside Boston to NYC and it took about 4 hours because it needs to stop at different stations. I think you are better off moving after you finish your degree.

Is Massachusetts college of arts hard to get into?

I go to an art magnet school but my grades are average. I'm starting my Sophomore year at high school so I still have time to improve my GPA. I want to go to Massachusetts college of arts but is it a hard school to get into? Can you suggest any other art colleges around Boston?

Yes, it's hard to get into. It's rather selective, even though it's a public institution, but it's good. It offers a wider variety of art programmes than most schools and is very well-reputed. If you can't get in, or if you'd just like to continue shopping around, check out the Art Institute of Boston and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, or the art programmes at Boston University, Northeastern University, and Tufts University. The Museum School actually offers their degrees via Tufts and NEU, and AIB is part of Lesley University. I'd steer clear of the New England Institute of Art because it's a for-profit school in the Art Institutes chain, but maybe I'm just biased.

Could my school "punish" me for this...?

I really don't want to go into the specifics of my story in case my school were to stumble upon this question...but I can give you some background. I attend a public high school just outside of boston massachusetts where I will be a senior in the fall (and will also be turning 18 by the start of school in september). Let's just say that if one were to look back on my postings on here, they could easily see that I have always felt like I was very different from the people I go to school with (And persecuted because of it). I have recently started up various web blogs and such which convey my distaste for the way my school advocates GSA clubs and "Obama's mass infanticide". I am now carefully considering the idea of starting up a youtube channel to make videos about these profound societal injustices. What I am asking you to do is cast aside my social and religious views in your judgement and tell me if you know of any way that my school could punish (or try to punish) me for any "controversial" blogs or video sermons that i might create off of school property. I only told you what they might be about so that you'd know how determined the school would be to stop me. (Also: I am a legally ordained independent Baptist minister...if that makes any legal difference to my chances of retribution from the school).

Freedom of speech
4 :
It depends on their regulations. I wouldn't.
5 :
No they can't do anything to you outside of school, it's called 'free speech'
6 :
Real simple. Usage of school property implies that the school has the right to review your creations. That does not mean that you are in trouble; it just means the school will probably give you quite a bit of grief over your work.
7 :
1. I disagree with your beliefs, sorry but I had to make that clear for my own sake 2. they shouldn't be able to punish you for spreading/ publishing/ w/e the right word is your beliefs. If they do you have constitutional protection- freedom of speech, plus it's off campus so they shouldn't be able to do anything about it 3. You will probably be talked to by someone from your school, possibly the head of school or counselor but I don't think they can actually punish you
8 :
WTF!? you should be hanging out with your friends and having fun instead of doing youtube videos of why you hate your school. Even if you make your videos how the hell are the people who see them going to make your school stop doing what you want them to stop doing. You shouldnt even care your just a kid.

Nope any state or school you want.
2 :
no...i dont think it is even like a lawyer where you have to be certified in a different state if you move...cause medicine is the same in each state.
3 :
No you don't have to practice in the state you go to school in. I don't believe I've ever met a doctor that practices in the state they went to school in.
4 :
No. Where you go to med school and where you choose to practice are not dependent on each other. It is up you.
5 :
OK please tell me you are talking veterinary school. Um the answer is yes and for you I see Guam, possibly Alaska or the Dakotas, somewhere I am highly unlikely to fall ill.
6 :
Not at all. As a matter of fact, the state in which doctors do their residency is a better determinant of where they eventually practice, but even there, it's hardly a requirement. The application process tends to be a minor pain in the rear, but many physicians are even licensed in multiple states.
7 :
You can practice in any state and for most states, it's a standard requirement that you submit your education and license credentials from another state. It's not a mere formality, as they do verify everything. Most states retain the right to have a licensing exam, but for most US educated and trained physicians, it's rarely implemented.

You live in Aussie? Go to Canberra A.C.T because you don't have to do highschool certificate there, you do get one, but you don't sit for a test it's just all your work over the year graded. Best public school is Hawker, it's 11 & 12. Good Luck
