College of the Holy Cross has twice the national rate for acceptance to medical schools and is nearing completion of a 60 million dollar science complex extension. HC is exceptionally strong in Premed and the sciences in general. More than 10 percent of the 35,000 living alumni of Holy Cross are physicians. HC is located 40 minutes west of Boston in Worcester which is on the commuter rail to Boston, 12 trains per day. It is the oldest Catholic school in New England and is routinely ranked around 30 on the US News and World Report national rankings. The HC campus is in the top ten of most beautiful college campuses in the nation per the 2009 Princeton Review. Other great premed schools in the Boston area are Tufts, Boston College, Brandeis,

For schools that are especially known for pre med, I have to mention Johns Hopkins. I know it's not northeast, but I felt it was worth mentioning. You know the main prestigious schools up in that area. There is also Brown and Princeton (also further south)
